If you want to put on the mittens, shake off the waterproof jackets, and get ready to ski in Turkey, Mt Uludag is the place to go. Now part of a national park and the highest of the 20 or so other other mountains known around here as Olympus, the 2543 meter (8,345 feet) Mt. Uludag is Turkey’s most developed, and most frequented ski resort. The official season lasts from December until mid-March, so there’s plenty of opportunity to explore Uludag’s numerous runs and 13 lifts. Or, if you prefer to stay out of the cold, look for a chance to join some of Istanbul’s richest and finest as they hang out in the resort’s trendy cafés and bars.
